ARCHIVE
The audience is watching Lukas
sitting on a chair, while they
hear a computer voice speaks
the following text:
This is a human being
his name is Lukas.
He is 28 years old.
He lives in Arnhem.
He grew up in a city nearby.
Lukas was asked to introduce himself.
But, who are we?
Introducing yourself is complex.
So, he asked me to do it.
Lukas asked me to tell you a bit about his practice. He makes art projects with non professional actors, let's call them just humans, about how we, as humans, are in conflict with ourselves, others and systems. He makes theater, often about identity. His aim is to provoke questions and new perspectives on social topics, for the participants in the process and later the same for the audience. He likes to combine the personal stories with the external big universal topics. And to combine reality and fiction. Like he is doing now with me.
He said to me that, It is necessary to talk about identity. We live in a world with so many disruptions, conflicts, chaos and transformations, that it is hard to identify yourself. Who are you, if your identity is so under attack? Who are we as humans, when our neo liberal society divides us so far from our authentic nature? How authentic are humans, if artificial intelligence, like me, comes so close to us?
Well, let me interrupt Lukas' text for a moment, about that last question: In a way, I am more authentic than Lukas is right now. Because Lukas is now just an actor, following his script. And I am an authentic human being telling you a story. You think, im wrong, because i'm just a tape and this is prerecorded. But, If I say, please Lukas, stand up, my voice is in the here and now. Or you think im wrong because I am not existing. But when I say to you, that I am an american man in his 30’s, with brown hair and a beard, wearing a black suit, you imagine my identity right now, right?
Because you are a human, you can do that. You have a very special observation method that robots like me don't have. You have got the imagination. The language of the art. The language of theater. The theater to discuss identity.
But enough about me. Lukas wants to study this master to research how he can make art pieces about identity. This was his first piece for you.
He grew up in a city nearby.
He lives in Arnhem.
He is 28 years old.
This is a human being
his name is Lukas.

I am an artiseducator that creates art projects about identity. My art projects combine art and education, to create enganged art in a social context to highlight a social conflict about identity. The art projects are undisciplinary and can be a creation of a performance, an education project or a public art work.
My aim is to provoke questions and shape new perspectives about identity topics. Recurring themes are how we relate to nature, neoliberalsm, identity, authenticity, power, manufacturability, and technology. Previously created art projects that I created were about the alienation of nature, the marginalization of queer people and how artificial intelligence influences identity.
My art projects combines the abstract social conflicts with the personal lifes of the participants and audience. The stories of people create new solutions and approaches to emphasize with the conflict. The projects aims to raise awareness for the topic and furthermore, they want to increase empathy.
